Sharon Allen
Sharon Allen has lived in Alaska since the 70’s and spent many years in Fairbanks where she owned her own business and was active in the community. She moved to Palmer in 2001. While in Alaska, she served on the UAA Board of Trustees and also served as President of the College of Fellows. She has also served on the Fine Arts Council for UAA Mat Su.
Sharon graduated from Minnesota Art Schools where she is the 93rd recipient of the Outstanding Alumni Award. She has taken many classes and workshops from notable artists. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society from the University of Alaska MATSU and also is a Signature Member of the Alaska Watercolor Society.
After creating “Why the Team Wins” for the famous Iditarod, the painting was juried into the Alaska Museum of History and Art. Sharon also had the privilege to create the fanciful poster for the Alaska State Fair in 2010. In 2019, Sharon had the honor of placing first with her painting DREAM TEAM in the 40th “Art on the Lakes” show and again in 2023 won first place with her painting of Cathedral Mountain in Sedona!
Sharon has traveled extensively in Europe and has been to Norway several times to visit her family. She and her husband Bill live in Lake Havasu City, AZ.
